Because MGNREGA Free Cycle Yojana has been launched by the Government of India for job card holders. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide financial assistance to the job card holders to buy a bicycle.
What is MNREGA Free Bicycle Scheme?
This scheme has been recently launched by the central government, in which the government provides financial assistance to the job card holders to buy bicycles. Through this scheme, the government provides an amount of Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000 to the MNREGA holders so that they can buy a bicycle for themselves and with the help of that bicycle, they can easily reach the NREGA location.
Purpose of MGNREGA Free Cycle Scheme
The main objective of the MNREGA Free Cycle Scheme run by the government is to provide assistance for cycles to such poor laborers who have a job card but do not have money to buy a cycle. In this scheme, the government is helping such laborers to buy a bicycle, so that they can use that bicycle to reach their workplace.
Many times, due to not having a bicycle or bike, the workers are not able to reach their work place on time, due to which their wages are deducted and they also suffer a lot due to this. Therefore, the government has started the MNREGA Free Cycle Scheme to solve this problem.
Eligibility prescribed for MGNREGA Free Cycle Yojana

- Such workers who are socially and economically weak.
